Working with Worry & Anxiety


Anxiety and excessive worrying is more and more common among kids of all ages. They internalize things, incorrectly , and don't know how to deal with overwhelming feelings. This can lead to paralysis, inability to cope, panic, and/or disruptive, acting out.

In this class we'll look at the maladaptive patterns of behavior kids have adapted (parent input is important here) and provide alternative strategies that make things better rather than worse.

We'll fill kid's coping 'toolbox' with strategies to use in times of stress and worry, including the ability to challenge irrational thinking, and replacing it with reality-based, constructive thinking.
